Liubov Spitsyna (aka Lyubava), born and raised in Ukraine, has always been drawn to creative projects. Her passion for storytelling sparked early on, and she quickly found herself drawn to both video and event planning.

Her first major event was back in 2007 when she assisted in organizing a public event, Urasenke Tea Ceremony School, for 150 people at a Botanical Garden that included lectures, workshops, demonstrations, and photography. For the following 6 years, Lyubava was the non-profit Ukraine-Japan Center’s lead event manager, dealing with scriptwriting, marketing, press communication, logistics, and public speaking (including national TV). This early experience ignited a lifelong passion for bringing people together and creating memorable experiences.

Over the years, Lyubava has honed her skills through diverse roles, including directing and editing video coverage for SokolovaDanceStudio, and serving as a lead video editor for Searchlight Fellowship. She's also freelanced and volunteered for over 50 events and video productions, gaining invaluable experience in every aspect of the creative process.

In 2022, Lyubava joined the Midpen Media Center as a Media Specialist, quickly demonstrating her talent and dedication. Within six months, she was promoted to Director of Education. During her time there, she wore many hats! She developed a wide range of engaging media arts programs for all ages and fostered a love of media arts in our community. She also played a key role in securing grant funding, hired and managed a team of instructors, taught and mentored, and streamlined operations.

Since December 2023, Lyubava has been a contract Producer for Nova Ukraine, successfully delivering a variety of impactful events. She's had the privilege of working with renowned artists like DakhaBrakha and even a former President of Ukraine, gaining valuable insights into high-level event production and community engagement.
